Israel’s higher education system transitioned rapidly to widespread online instruction in response to the COVID-19 crisis. This required MEITAL to examine the technological tools that enable students to take exams and undergo evaluation. It is vital to ensure that the transition to online learning allows exams and evaluations to continue while maintaining the integrity, value and reliability of grades to properly reflect academic competency. MEITAL prepared a comparison of the available tools in order to assist the community identify the most suitable, and to help formulate appropriate practices for conducting online exams. MEITAL has held a number of online seminars on the subject, with recordings available for viewing (in Hebrew) on the MEITAL website.
