The PRACE 2017 Winter School hosted by IUCC in Tel Aviv on February 6-9, 2017, was an outstanding success. Under the banner, “Fuelling Scientific Discovery with HPC Infrastructure,” the four-day program covered the fundamentals of parallel programming, GPU programming, Performance Tools, LAMMPS and Multiprocessing in Python. Registration was filled to capacity within just a few weeks of opening with 58 participants attending, including students from Austria, Italy, Spain and Turkey and lecturers from the Jülich Supercomputing Center in Germany. A welcome dinner and tour of the Milk & Honey Distillery was enjoyed by members of the Program Committee, visitors and lecturers from abroad and IUCC staff. Our guest lecturers also enjoyed a half-day walking tour of Old Tel Aviv-Jaffa.
