Recognizing that National Research & Education Networks (NRENs) are essential in providing advanced ICT services to the academic research and education communities, GÉANT has launched an intuitive portal and repository of materials to assist NRENs, particularly newer ones, to acquire funding, to raise awareness of the value and of NRENs and achieve sustainability. While NRENs are well established in the GÉANT community, of which IUCC is a member, countries in other parts of the world face formidable challenges gaining mindshare and persuading stakeholders of the inherent national value of operating an NREN.
The repository is a work in progress and will grow as users and partners contribute. The portal is currently available in English, French, Arabic, Spanish and Russian. https://casefornrens.geant.org/Pages/Home.aspx
